A library plays a vital role in providing up-to-date information and helps keep abreast with the changing times. The Library of G. C. University Lahore dates back to 1872. The library building was extended in 1964 and 1999. The library holds a collection of over 148,000 bound volumes. The library also holds a number of special collection and archives including Sufi Ghulam Mustafa Tabassum, Dr. Khalid Aftab, Dr. Ebadat Bralvi, Mirza Maqbool Baig Badakshani, Sardar Karim Nawaz, Muzaffar Ali Syed, and Prof. Razi Wasti .

Apart from the central library (Fazal-i-Hussain Library) a new Postgraduate Library has started functioning in 1999 which is capable of accommodating nearly 400 readers at a time in modern air conditioned surroundings. Most of the books in G. C. University Library can be openly accessed and can be borrowed for two weeks at a time except for certain rare and valuable books. The Central and Post Graduate library is fully computerized providing e-mail, Internet and software package facilities to the students/users.

Photocopying and scanning facilities are provided for reference and journal materials.
